Tabs: A Different Kind of Capture with Beth Carter-Gautsch

There are many ways to capture a stone or gemstone in metal. Tab setting offers the jeweler an easy way to set a stone without traditional soldering techniques. In this workshop you will practice good sawing skills to achieve a good fit. Construction of both internal and external tabs elements will be taught along with basic soldering, depending on time available and class interest.. Once you understand the process you will be able to create earrings or pendant of your own design. All tools will be provided. We will be using brass as our base metal.

No experience necessary, all levels welcome. Please wear closed-toe shoes and long
