Clay and Creativity: Pottery Beyond the Basics with Suzie Sanchez Gill

ages: 13-18

Learn the foundations of wheel throwing while also exploring the beauty of creative surface decoration! Students will create functional pottery such as mugs, bowls, and cups while learning and experimenting with carving, sgraffito illustration, texture, underglazes, and unique glazing approaches.

What Students Can Expect to Take Away:

• 2–4 finished wheel-thrown pieces

• Confidence centering and pulling basic forms

• Understanding of pottery tools and studio practices

• Introduction to sgraffito and surface design techniques

• Creative approaches to glazing and decoration

Skill Level Required: Beginner friendly; no prior clay experience required.
