About the Course
Garment and Craft Stitching with Jane Gagliardi
This class will focus on the basics of sewing for those looking to pick up a
budget-friendly and easily accessible skill. The curriculum will be focused on the
basics that can be expanded upon into many different hobbies that rely on sewing
such as: costuming, garment construction, quilting, sashiko, cut work, and smocking
(to name a few)! As a student, you will be able to choose from a predetermined list (or
create a custom combination) of projects based on your interests and what would be
functional to you after the class. You will also become familiar with the multiple
stitches used in handworked sewing, along with some basic construction techniques
and concepts. Materials and machines are provided; students are encouraged to bring their own fabric/machine if desired.
