Painting Portraits in Oil with Elena Hart

An introductory class in the medium of oils! Students will learn how to properly handle and use oil paints. This delicate and complex medium can allow light to be truly captured and new levels to be reached! Students can expect to take away a knowledge of a new and classic medium, and 2-3 paintings of complex still lives. This class is designed for familiar painters who are new to oils.

Dive into the art of portraiture! This subject is a staple of the artist's tool belt. Learning how to capture the proper portrait takes skill and patience, and yet traditionally you are forced to work quickly and diligently. This is an intermediate/ advanced oil class, the artist must be familiar with oils. Expect to take away 2 paintings and a grasp of classical composition.
